The KVFD is committed to providing prompt, reliable fire and life safety services to the residents and visitors of Eldred Township.
Through team work, communication, and professionalism, we strive to promote an environment that encourages safety, innovation, and creativity from within, and we work hard to always maintain a positive public image.
We work hard to be better people, become better firefighters, and to constantly be a better department. We don’t try or claim to be better than anyone else, but rather, we jut try to be better than we were before.
About Us
The Kunkletown Volunteer Fire Department is a fully volunteer fire department. The department provides fire and emergency service response to Eldred Township, Monroe County, Pennsylvania; a 24.5 square mile area with a population of 2910 as per the 2010 Census data.
Our department operates with a total of seven apparatus consisting of (2) Engines, (1) Tanker, (1) Rescue, (1) Ariel Bucket Truck, and (2) Brush Trucks. We also have (2) all-terrain vehicles. All of our apparatus is stored at our station located in heart of Kunkletown, a small rural community located in beautiful northeast Pennsylvania. The Fire Department will celebrate their 65th Anniversary as a municipal Fire Department in FY2018.
Our station is located at 597 Kunkletown Road and consists of two separate buildings containing a total of 8 separate bay areas where we store all our apparatus and equipment. Also available at our station is a full kitchen, dining hall, mini bar, an office, and a training room.
